SOF IMO Class 2: syllabus, paper pattern and sample questions
The SOF International Mathematics Olympiad for Class 2 is a 60-minute paper of 35 questions for 40 marks in 4 sections. Every question has four options and one right answer. The last 5 questions are the Achievers Section, worth 2 marks each. Below: how the paper is set out, the 8 chapters it draws on, one sample question from each section with its answer, and how to practise it for free.
Paper pattern
IMO Class 2 is set out in 4 sections. Sprinto's mock tests and printed papers follow the same order, counts and marks.

Syllabus: the 8 chapters
Every question on the paper belongs to one of these chapters. On Sprinto's map each chapter is an island, and the Achievers Section is the same chapters asked harder — not a separate topic.

Sample questions with answers
One from each section, taken from Sprinto's own bank for IMO Class 2. In the app the numbers, names and figures are different every time; these are fixed so you can read them.
Sample 1 · Section 1: Logical Reasoning · Logical Reasoning
Answer: (B) Meera
Put them in order from tallest to shortest: Reyansh, Diya, Meera, Aditi, Ishaan. So the third shortest is Meera.
Sample 2 · Section 2: Mathematical Reasoning · Patterns
The shape keeps getting bigger. Which one comes next?
Answer: (B)
Each shape is a little bigger than the one before, so the next one is the biggest of all.
Sample 3 · Section 3: Everyday Mathematics · Computation Operations
Aditi had 36 balloons and gave 26 of them to Anaya. How many balloons are left with Aditi?
Answer: (D) 10
36 − 26 = 10.
Sample 4 · Section 4: Achievers Section · Logical Reasoning · Achievers difficulty
The first pair follows a rule about the number of sides. Which shape completes the second pair?
Answer: (B)
A trapezium has 4 sides and a pentagon has 5 — 1 more. A pentagon has 5 sides, so the answer must have 6.
How to practise IMO Class 2 on Sprinto
- One island per chapter. A hidden rating per chapter picks the next maths question at the difficulty that is just hard enough today.
- Mistakes come back. Anything she gets wrong returns a few days later, then a week, then a month, until it stops being a mistake.
- Mock tests in the real shape. 35 questions, 4 sections, 60 minutes, marked the moment she hands it in.
- Papers you can print. A full IMO Class 2 paper with an OMR sheet, sat at the table with a pencil.
