SOF IMO Class 5: syllabus, paper pattern and sample questions
The SOF International Mathematics Olympiad for Class 5 is a 60-minute paper of 50 questions for 60 marks in 4 sections. Every question has four options and one right answer. The last 5 questions are the Achievers Section, worth 3 marks each. Below: how the paper is set out, the 10 chapters it draws on, one sample question from each section with its answer, and how to practise it for free.
Paper pattern
IMO Class 5 is set out in 4 sections. Sprinto's mock tests and printed papers follow the same order, counts and marks.

Syllabus: the 10 chapters
Every question on the paper belongs to one of these chapters. On Sprinto's map each chapter is an island, and the Achievers Section is the same chapters asked harder — not a separate topic.

Sample questions with answers
One from each section, taken from Sprinto's own bank for IMO Class 5. In the app the numbers, names and figures are different every time; these are fixed so you can read them.
Sample 1 · Section 1: Logical Reasoning · Figure Reasoning
Answer: (B)
The figure is made of rhombus, rectangle, pentagon, square — there is no trapezium in it.
Sample 2 · Section 2: Mathematical Reasoning · Computation, HCF and LCM
What is the highest common factor of 25 and 17?
Answer: (D) 1
The largest number that divides both 25 and 17 is 1.
Sample 3 · Section 3: Everyday Mathematics · Measurement and Conversions
Aditi's shop had 4 L of milk and sold 2 L 348 mL of it. How much milk is left?
Answer: (D) 1 L 652 mL
4 L − 2 L 348 mL = 1 L 652 mL.
Sample 4 · Section 4: Achievers Section · Perimeter, Area and Symmetry · Achievers difficulty
Ishaan ran right around a square field 3 times and covered 624 m altogether. What is the area of the field?
Answer: (C) 2704 sq. m
One lap is 624 ÷ 3 = 208 m, so each side is 208 ÷ 4 = 52 m, and the area is 52 × 52 = 2704 sq. m.
How to practise IMO Class 5 on Sprinto
- One island per chapter. A hidden rating per chapter picks the next maths question at the difficulty that is just hard enough today.
- Mistakes come back. Anything she gets wrong returns a few days later, then a week, then a month, until it stops being a mistake.
- Mock tests in the real shape. 50 questions, 4 sections, 60 minutes, marked the moment she hands it in.
- Papers you can print. A full IMO Class 5 paper with an OMR sheet, sat at the table with a pencil.
